1. Who We Are
FreeEdge operates the website freeedge.app. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data We Collect
Account data: When you sign up, we collect your email address and name via Clerk (our authentication provider). You may optionally sign up via Google or other OAuth providers, in which case we receive only the data those providers share.
Payment data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We store a reference to your Stripe customer ID and payment confirmation, but never your card number or full payment details.
Usage data: We store your offer progress, calculator inputs, and Betfair balance entries that you save within the app. This data is stored in Supabase (our database provider) and is linked to your user account.
Technical data: Standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is not stored long-term and is used only for security and debugging.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the FreeEdge service
- To process your payment and grant access
- To save your progress and preferences
- To respond to support queries
- To maintain the security of the platform
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling outside of FreeEdge.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: To provide the service you have paid for
- Legitimate interests: To maintain platform security and prevent fraud
- Legal obligation: To comply with applicable laws
5. Third-Party Services
FreeEdge uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Clerk (clerk.com) — authentication and user account management
- Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing
- Supabase (supabase.com) — database and data storage
- Vercel (vercel.com) — hosting and infrastructure
- Google (google.com) — Google Sheets API for offer data
These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and in accordance with applicable data protection law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — request deletion of your data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
FreeEdge uses strictly necessary cookies for authentication (session management via Clerk). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as only essential cookies are used.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database access controls, and restricted staff access to production data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or email. Continued use of FreeEdge after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
